Salary: Circa £30,000 p.a. Plus Benefits

 

Job Type: 40 hours full-time

Key Duties:

  • Comply with set menu specification which reflect Mytime Active’s standard of using fresh, high quality and seasonal products.
  • Prepare, cook and present all meals attractively and in line with the specification with the majority of dishes being made in-house.
  • Supervise food delivery and presentation.
  • To be responsible for managing and reviewing the gross profit (GP) so that expected financial margin is achieved.
  • Ensure to all financial and purchasing procedures as set out in the Quality Management System.
  • Order all supplies cost-effectively using nominated and approved suppliers.
  • Ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained in the kitchen.
  • Keep stock secure at all times, storing foodstuffs appropriately and maintain accurate records. Avoid unnecessary wastage and deterioration of foodstuffs.
  • Manage catering staff to ensure a professional safe, clean and efficient kitchen operation.  Ensure that all staff are trained in food handling and preparation, the use of all equipment, personal hygiene, serving, food storage and in keeping the required Mytime Active records
  • Ensure equipment is used appropriately and for its designed use.  Report any equipment defects and withdraw from use immediately.
  • Maintain, implement and review company procedures and processes as appropriate.
  • To carry out all duties with regard to Health & Safety requirements and regulations according to the Health & Safety Policy

Knowledge/Experience

  • A sound knowledge of current Food & Beverage best practice and practical application in the workplace, including all legislative responsibilities.
  • Understanding of how portion control and consistent presentation of food impacts the customer experience and financial success of the service.
  • Commercial awareness.

 

  • Chef experience or working in a similar working environment which included meal preparation and presentation of a varied daily menu, buffets and catering for functions.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate
